Pigusus the Flying Pig

Readers may find certain events in The Pigusus Saga improbable, implausible, or altogether ridiculous.

The author respectfully reminds readers that they inhabit a reality in which Donald Trump was elected President of the United States twice.

Under the circumstances, the author sees little reason to apologize for a flying pig.

There is, after all, no compelling reason to assume that the reality we presently inhabit is the only reality that exists.

Indeed, if the universe is sufficiently accommodating, there may be an infinite number of probable realities, each differing from the others in ways ranging from the imperceptibly small to the profoundly absurd.

Somewhere, perhaps, history unfolded almost exactly as we remember it, except that a particular election went differently, an important scientific discovery occurred a century earlier, or a government agency demonstrated an unexpected degree of competence.

Other realities may be considerably harder to explain.

The thought-form realm, if it exists, offers an intriguing possibility. Within it, imagination, consciousness, and probability may interact in ways our present understanding of physics cannot yet describe. Under such circumstances, the distinction between something that has been imagined and something that has actually occurred becomes less reassuring than one might prefer.

The Pigusus Saga concerns one such probable reality.

In this reality, the United States government has undertaken a highly classified research program involving an artificially intelligent flying pig. As might be expected, the program does not proceed entirely according to plan.

What follows involves artificial intelligence, advanced biotechnology, interdimensional visitors, political institutions, spiritual inquiry, and a number of individuals whose qualifications for their respective responsibilities are open to question.

Some developments may seem preposterous. Others may bear an uncomfortable resemblance to events in our own reality.

Neither possibility should be particularly surprising.

After all, improbability should not be confused with impossibility. Given an infinite number of probable realities, events that appear extraordinary in one may be entirely ordinary in another.

It is therefore conceivable that the events described in The Pigusus Saga have already occurred, are presently occurring, or will eventually occur somewhere within the thought-form realm.

I make no claim to have visited that particular reality, nor do I possess documentary evidence of its existence.

Nevertheless, the possibility cannot be categorically dismissed.

Readers are accordingly invited to approach The Pigusus Saga with an open mind, a reasonable degree of skepticism, and the understanding that reality itself may occasionally display a sense of humor.
